We opened Mother Superior in November 2020, taking over a much loved Nunhead business and giving it a revamp. Our name primarily inspired by the history of the neighbourhood, and a nod to Mother Earth herself.
Our goal is to support smaller, independent wine producers who share our belief that caring for the soil is as important as the end product, and therefore farm as sustainably as possible. This means organic and bio-dynamic methods, and limited intervention to the natural processes.
The result is a production method that gives back to the earth, increases the biodiversity of the land, and provides a better tasting wine for us all.
We also offer a curated selection of craft beers, ciders, spirits and grocery items from local and artisanal producers.
